Wow. I’ve gotta say that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a D&D ad. Where would one see these? In Heavy Metal or some other fantasy-type zine? I wasn’t much of a comic or ‘zine reader/collector growing up, except for MAD mag. But these ads are awesome! Man, TSR Hobbies. Whatever happened to them?

According to the dragonsfoot forums where the pics were originally posted, the second ad at least is from OMNI Magazine in ’78 or ’79. I bet the third one is as well. The first ad looks even older.

Is the knight on the motorcycle holding a sword in one hand and a cigar in the other? It’s a Freudian field day!

LoL. Classic. I totally remember OMNI magazine. They had super sci-fi stuff that was totally fit for ’70s geeks and nerds.
