The thing about girls in the ’70s is that they would kick your ass, verbally and/or literally, if you gave them any sort of shit whatsoever. Remember Tatum O’Neal’s character in The Bad News Bears? That’s what the girls were like—in my neighborhood, anyway—when I was a boy.

Awesome shot, especially with the girl blowing a gum-bubble. Why that’s so ’70s, I dunno.
When I was in 6th Grade I actually had a girl in my class who was so spunky that she tried picking a fight with me over some bs, in front of a few of my friends. I was so confused by her proposal that I stood there speechless, but at the same time wondering if I should just deck her to so she’d shut up (she kept saying “whatza matter, you scared to fight a girl?”) Such an awkward moment. We ended up just diffusing the situation somehow.
Those shoes remind me of that “bubble bubble gum in a dish” game. Do you remember that?
Jesus, yes, I remember that. We used eenie meenie miney moe a lot more. And I just thought of MASH. I always got stuck in the goddamn shack. It was not cool.
Dood, MASH lol. That game was always the best for acting out your fantasy of marrying the cutest girl in class, owning a Lamborghini Countach with 3 kids and living in a mansion. Somehow it wasn’t so bad if I could get at least 2 out of 3, even if it meant living in a shack.
oops make that 3 out of 4, right? haha.
