Giorgio Moroder’s Music from “Battlestar Galactica” and Other Original Compositions (1978)

BSG Moroder 1978

The collision of silver age sci-fi and disco was either Western civilization’s final, total surrender to decadence, or one of our finest moments. Or was it both?

Listen to side one—all the BSG music—here. Side two—“Evolution,” a Moroder classic—is here.

The LP cover artist is Winston Taylor.

Oof. Disco version of the BSG theme. Face palm, but still somewhat enjoyable. Thanks for posting!

Whoa, space disco. It was just last week that the girlfriend and I were out somewhere eating or getting drinks (I can’t even remember where), and the disco Star Wars theme came on. I don’t think I’d heard it since back in the day, honestly.

I should forward her the above image and see if she’d wear the outfit for me.. 😉

I actually have a Russian made CD release of this. The cover art alone is worthy of one of those album cover frames you can buy at the craft store. Kinda looks like Maren Jensen in Vader’s helmet. Pure sexy goodness.
