You know, what I’d really like to find is the single-sheet d30 critical hits table that was distributed with the Armory’s d30 die. That thing is impossible to find!

First off, I am really digging those green dice. Never was a fan of the yellow ones because I never felt like the numbers stood out enough. I’ve never seen a 30 sided die before. Does it have negative numbers on it? How does that work?

I used to work at The Armory. Boy, the stories I could tell 🙂 I wish I could go back and wander through that enormous warehouse. The owner, Roy Lippman, was really ahead of his time in many ways—in particular, he tried to create what he called an “electronic buyer’s guide” long before the Internet. I was part of the crew putting that together. Each hobby shop would have had its own Mac with the Buyer’s Guide built into it. Sadly, it never worked out that way, but working there was quite the experience.

When I was a little kid, I lived in Pikesville and when my dad and I would go to The Armory to shop, the folks there would take me into the warehouse and let me look around. Man… SUCH great memories of that. Opened my mind!
