My first guess for the year was 1978, but the 2600 model looks like the four-switch, wood veneer version first released in 1980, and the date in the top right corner looks like ’83. I’m betting Video Olympics is what they’re playing.
There’s a record in front of the stereo I can’t identify. I wish I had that chair.
The record in front of the stereo looks like it could be Frampton Comes Alive. I recall in Wayne’s World the remark, “Everybody in the world has Frampton Comes Alive. They used to give it out with boxes of Tide.”
I think they’re playing Super Breakout. Video Olympics had a cartridge label that was pretty uniformly colored. The one in the picture seems to have a darker area in what would be the top left area, and a dark rough edge to the right. They’re also playing with paddle controllers.
The only cartridge that played with paddles that has a cartridge that looked like that would have been Super Breakout.
