Yeah! Regarding Rule #26: I wonder how prevalent surfwear was outside of the Cali borders. I know all the movies depicted SoCal as paradise so I wouldn’t be surprised if people in Pennsylvania or West Virginia were grabbing for those Cali shirts. I’m just happy I was old enough to remember the ’70s. Cool share!
I think it was nation-wide. Ocean Pacific (OP), Hang Ten, and surf style in general were all the rage. Among the young, anyway.
Sadly I have a photo of me from 1987 which looks disturbingly similar.
