I never knew about these. It’s too bad these weren’t popular back then. If they shrunk down to the right size, they would have been an economical alternative to lead miniatures for gaming.

I guess they still can be. You could always buy slotted bases. And these days you can buy your own ink jet shrinky dink material and print out whatever you need.
