Christmas Morning, 1978: Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and Adventure People

Christmas 1978-2

Another shot starring the Death Star and the Daredevil Sports Van, not to mention all the major Battlestar Galactica vehicles, via Darrick Bachman. I also see a Tie Fighter, a die-cast X-Wing Fighter package, a Spider-Man Mobile Crime Lab (below, via Jon Knutson), and a Nylint Trail Blazer (below, via eBay).

Wow Darrick was really lucky to get all of that! I think I received a Meccano set that year.

I also was not this lucky. I think I got the Death Star in ’79.

I was cursed with a birthday near Christmas, so what that meant is I would get combined Christmas/birthday gifts, although it would allow me to get them a bit earlier.

I might have a picture from that Christmas, if I find it and it is interesting I will send it your way. It was taken on a Kodak instant camera, so I think the resolution and clarity is not all that good.

Sadly, a lot of kids who received the missle-firing Battlestar Galactica toys ended up choking on the missles.
